Terms and Conditions

Use of your contact details: When registering to attend an event organised by the Institute of Ergonomics & Human Factors, the contact details you supply will be stored on our database in order that we may contact you regarding that event. We may also use these details to contact you in the future to advise of forthcoming events that may be of interest to you. The Institute will never give or sell your details to a third party. If anyone other than the Events team wishes to contact you, we will contact you first to ensure you agree.
Payment: Payment for attendance at an event is required before the event takes place either on-line via our secure payment website or by invoice. Invoices will not be issued less than 6 weeks before an event, and if a booking is made during this time, payment must be made immediately by credit/debit card on-line or by telephone.
Cancellation of your booking: If you register but then are unable to attend an event for any reason you may substitute someone else from the same organisation. If you are unable to attend and are not in a position to transfer your place to another person or to another event, then the following refund arrangements apply.
- Cancellation received 8 weeks prior to the start of the event: 80% refund.
- Cancellation received between 7 and 4 weeks prior to the start of the event: 50% refund minus £25 admin charge.
- Cancellations received within 4 weeks of the start of the event: no refund.
Where the event fees include accommodation, we will attempt to refund the accommodation costs through the venue, however this is not always possible.
